The Textile Museum operates yearly workshops for local schools in
association with the Cultural and Educational Services of the City of Chieri, within the
framework of "Chieri Cittą Educativa".
Since the Museum does not have an employed staff, it takes advantage of the assistance
offered by many volunteers who believe that this Museum should not only be a place where
'artefacts' from the past are exhibited, but where knowledge and methods of using those
same artefacts can be re-elaborated through didactic activities carried out together with
the schools. In this way, the relationship between the students and the cultural heritage
of our region may become one of awareness, affection, personal identification, collective
memory and valorisation of the cultural wealth of our community. |
